B.Sc. Textile Science and Technology Programme
Candidates can enter the Textile Science and Technology Programme at 100 Level or 200 Level depending on
(i) For 100 Level, a candidate must satisfy the minimum University/Faculty of Science entry requirements
which is a pass at the credit level in at least five subjects which must include Mathematics, Chemistry,
Physics and English Language at Senior Secondary Certificate (SSCE) Level or its equivalent.
(ii) For 200 Level, a candidate must in addition to (i) above have an Advanced Level (‘A’ Level)
pass or its equivalent in Chemistry and Mathematics or Physics.
Professionally qualified candidates with OND, HND etc may be considered on their own merit.
Duration of the programme
The duration of B.Sc. Textile Science and Technology Programme is five (5) Years for candidates admitted into 100 level and four (4) years
for those admitted into 200 level. There are two semesters of formal University Studies in each academic session
except at 400level where students are required to undergo Students’ Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES)
programme for 6 months. At the end of the programme, each student is required to write, present and defend a
report on what he/she learned in the industry. At 500 level, students undertake a one year project in any field
The minimum number of credit units to be earned before a student can graduate is 150 credit units for those coming
in at 100 Level and 120 credit units for those coming in at 200 level.
